Nini Chaichanasakul Tran D.D.S., Ph.D
Nini Chaichanasakul Tran D.D.S., Ph.D. is a dual-trained pediatric dentist and scientist. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology at UCLA, she completed a dual degree training and received her D.D.S. degree, graduating with honors, and Ph.D. degree in Oral Biology from UCLA School of Dentistry. She then completed her residency in pediatric dentistry at UCLA School of Dentistry. Currently, she is also an Assistant Professor in the Section of Pediatric Dentistry in the Division of Growth and Development at UCLA School of Dentistry.
As a dual-trained academic pediatric dentist, her goal is to provide comprehensive oral care for her pediatric patients from the best available scientific evidence and to educate future generation of dentists and scientists by connecting translational sciences and clinical practice.
Dr. Tran is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and truly an advocate for children. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Southern California Society of Dentistry for Children.
Dr. Tran spent most of her childhood in Bangkok, Thailand and speaks Thai fluently. Growing up in the United States, Dr. Tran is a true Bruins and Southern Californian. She and her husband enjoy raising their adorable young son together. She considers that it is a true privilege to be a part of the TLC for Smiles team and to take care of her patients’ dental health as they develop into adults.
